Walangkura Napanangka
Old Womens Travelling Story
ASAAWN2274
2007
120x88cm
Acrylic paints on linen
Description:This paintings depicts designs associated with the travels of an old woman, Kutungka Napanangka, from the west. She traveled from Malparingya north west of Kintore and visited the site of Papulnga which is slightly west of Tjintjintin where there is an underground cave. The small circles represent the edible berries known as Kampurarrpa or desert raisin from the small shrub solanum centrale. Kutungka gathered these berries as she travelled.
