Description:Gracie Morton Pwerle lives at Mosquito Bore in Utopia. Gracie's family and neighbors include Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre and several other famous artists. Gracie started with the Batik movement and spent many years producing high quality works. Recently she has moved into the painting medium using acrylics on canvas. Her work is comprised of fine dots in intricate patterns, all depicting stories of her Dreamtimes. Gracie has been well exhibited within Australia and internationally.

This painting depicts a women's ceremonial site near Utopia. It specifically relates to women's business, and a initiation ceremony for women.
Women paint their bodies with markings in preparation for the ceremony. These ceremonies involve song, dance and body decoration and carry a deep spiritual significance to Aboriginal people
