| Description: | The linear pattern throughout this painting represents Awelye, women’s ceremonial body paint design. The women paint their bodies and sing songs for ceremonies throughout the year. Designs are painted onto the chest, breast, shoulders and upper arms with ground ochre's and applied to the body with a brush-like stick known as a Typale.
Anna lives at Mulga Bore outstation at Utopia, NT approximately 250 km from Alice Springs. She is married to Colin Price. Anna and Colin have three children. She is also has five grandchildren. Anna has painted since her early childhood, but began selling her paintings in the mid 1990’s. Her language is Anmatyerre and English is her second language. Anna Paints Bush Yam, Bush Yam Seed and Body Paint Dreaming's. These are the Dreaming's of her grandfather and his country which is in the Boundary Bore region. |
